Wireweave Ceramic Pendant Lamp Shade – Medium in Peacock Glaze Finish

A handmade ceramic pendant shade with copper wire detailing — a one-of-a-kind lighting piece made in small batches. This is the medium version of the Wireweave Peacock pendant.

Each shade starts on the wheel before being altered by hand, giving it an organic form that no mould could replicate. A combination of layered glazes is then applied in an overlapping pattern inspired by peacock feathers — the origin of the Wireweave Peacock name. As the glazes melt together in the kiln, they produce a surface that's as much texture as it is colour.

This is the medium shade in the Peacock range, with a rounded, balanced profile. The base glaze is a soft, mottled pink that fades to a pale green-yellow toward the rim. The additional glazes build on this foundation, pooling and bleeding into each other in ways that are guided but never entirely predictable — each firing bringing its own surprises.

The copper wire is wound on by hand after firing. No two arrangements are the same. Lit up, it catches the light warmly against the glaze.

Each shade is wheel-thrown from midfire clay, an eco-friendlier choice that requires a shorter firing time and lower temperature than traditional stoneware to reach vitrification.

The signature Wireweave structure is created using pure copper wire, shaped entirely by hand. When illuminated, the light catches the copper and creates a striking, sculptural glow, adding depth, warmth, and a dramatic statement to any interior. Over time, the copper will develop a natural patina, though it can be gently polished if you prefer a brighter finish.
