Wireweave ceramic pendant lamp shade – small in Peacock glaze design

$490.00

A handmade ceramic pendant shade with copper wire detailing — a compact, one-of-a-kind lighting piece made in small batches. This is the small version of the Wireweave Peacock pendant.

Each shade begins on the wheel before being shaped by hand, resulting in an organic form with a character all of its own. Layers of glaze are then applied in an overlapping pattern drawn from the colours and markings of peacock feathers — the inspiration behind the Wireweave Peacock name. In the kiln, these glazes shift and merge, creating a surface alive with colour and texture.

This is the smallest shade in the Peacock range, with a neat, rounded profile that works beautifully in tighter spaces or grouped together in multiples. The base glaze is a soft, mottled pink that transitions to a pale green-yellow at the rim. The overlapping glazes move across this in ways that are carefully considered but shaped as much by the heat of the firing as by the hand that applied them.

The copper wire is wound on by hand after firing. No two arrangements are the same. Lit up, it casts a warm glow that plays across the glaze and wire alike.

Each shade is wheel-thrown from midfire clay, an eco-friendlier choice that requires a shorter firing time and lower temperature than traditional stoneware to reach vitrification.

The signature Wireweave structure is created using pure copper wire, shaped entirely by hand. When illuminated, the light catches the copper and creates a striking, sculptural glow, adding depth, warmth, and a dramatic statement to any interior. Over time, the copper will develop a natural patina, though it can be gently polished if you prefer a brighter finish.
